Hell yes, it's dangerous! I enjoy epilepsy and used to take phenobarb and have a few drinks one night years ago, and I completed up in ER! VERY treacherous. The combination of phenobarbital and alcohol is potentially lethal! The alcohol will mix near the phenobarb, and cause you to crash down asleep, and your breathing will become extremely shallow, causing the oxygen surrounded by your brain to be slowly cut off. Not a righteous idea if you want to stay alive.

oh my god yes! Any depressant is death-defying to mix with alcohol.
I'm surprised that it's still possible to grasp phenobarbital. It's a central panicky system depressant, as is alcohol. Mixing the two together could depress the action of your brain so much that the quantity responsible for keeping you breathing doesn't work, leading to annihilation by suffocation.
